    THE CAMP & SET UP The camp is situated at the top end of the Salli village on the road leading to Kareri village. The road will soon be connecting to Ghera and Naddi villages of Dharamshala in the near future. The view from the camp is panoramic. It offers sweeping view of the Khauli valley and the river with snow clad mountains to the north, spell binding sights of sunset towards the Khanol village to the west and spectacular sight of the huge reservoirs of Pong &Ranjit Sagar to the south.  

     

    The camp has 12 accommodation tents with all amenities for an adventure enthusiast. The imported waterproof dome tents are unique having very comfortable camping cots with pillows and blankets. One can walk into it as tents have clear 7ft clear height. The tents are large enough for a family of four also. All tents have electricity with charging points, so as to charge the cameras for the next day to capture those beautiful life time images.

     

     

    Toilets & bathing tents are neat, clean and modern in a separate area keeping in mind the environment. We take pride in saving water, recycling whatever we can. Our towels are washed in cold water to launder as it takes a lot of energy to heat up water — multiply that by the number of loads, and that's a big footprint. 

    ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES
    Being a activity oriented camp, lot of stress is laid on being outdoors. The camp offers some amazing activities such as High rope course at around 15 feet height offering net climbing, tree climbing, Burma Bridge, commando net, Mogli walk, shaking wall and commando net. The camp also offers a zip line of 250ft long. There are many other team building games available for that perfect corporate offsite and school educational activities. For the families, it will truly be bonding & quality time for the parents with their children.

    District of Kangra Kangra district lies between 31˚ 21′ to 32˚ 59′ N latitude and 75˚ 47′ 55″ to 77˚ 45′ E longitude. It is situated on the southern escarpment of the Himalayas. The entire area of the district is traversed by the varying altitude of the Shivaliks, Dhauladhar and the Himalayas from north-west to south-east. The altitude varies from 500 meters above mean sea level (AMSL) to around 5500 meters. It is encapsulated in the north by the districts of Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti, in the south by Hamirpur and Una, in the east by Mandi and in the west by Gurdaspur district of Punjab. It was the largest district of the composite Punjab in terms of area till it was transferred from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh on the 1st November, 1966 and had six tehsils namely Nurpur, Kangra, Palampur, Dehra gopipur, Hamirpur and Una. Kullu was also a tehsil of Kangra district up to 1962 and Lahaul & Spiti which also formed a part of Kangra was carved out as a separate district in 1960. 



    Snowfall in Dharamshala

    Pack your warm clothes, and get ready to trek in the Dhauladhar Himalayas near Dharamshala. The Kangra Valley is one of the best and unexplored destinations of Himachal Pradesh. If you have never seen snowfall or trekked in snow, this is opportunity to grab. The best season is from December to April. In addition, visit the famous Cricket Stadium of Dharamshala, H.H. Dalai Lama Temple while enjoying spectacular views of mountain tops and valleys as white snow surrounds the city during the winter months. On a visit to this hill station, you can also visit the Kareri Lake, and Baleni Pass while staying at the Snow Monk Camp.

    In the months from December to April, it is a pleasure to see the mountains shining in the sunlight. The Dhauladhar range is a delight to watch the breathtaking scenery.     Today we leave for a full day snow trek for an amazing experience of the mighty Dhauladhar Himalaya covering forests, meadows, streams, brooks, villages and grand snow views with packed lunch. The view from the base camp is spectacular with snow capped peaks in the front and river Khauli flowing through their valley.     >      Post   breakfast, departure for trek to Camp I. An easy & delightful trek along with the river Khauli. The camp is set in a lovely meadow in an enchanting forest

    >      Arrive around 12 noon

    >      Tent pitching activity – set up your own tents

        Lunch and  rest and experience the4 dense forest around

    >      We enjoy activity of learning rope knots

    >       Tea time followed wood collection activity for building a campfire

    >      Soup time

    >      Dinner and overnight in tents

    Day 3:  HEIGHT GAIN DAY / VISIT CHANDRELA TEMPLE (8kms/ 4-5hrs) “Snow Monk Trail”

    Post   breakfast, we depart for a day trek towards Chandrela Temple. Cross river at various sections and go past the temple and tread on glaciers. Great thrilling experience (Snow experience from Feb – May)

    >      Arrive back at the camp for lunch

    >      Walk back to the base camp

    >      Tea with snack at the base camp

    >      Relax and enjoy the sunset

    Mcleod Ganj is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and home to a large Tibetan population, including many monks and nuns. The Tibetan government-in-exile is based just downhill at Gangchen Kyishong.        Chandraila temple leading to the meadows of Chagrotu

    DAY 03: TREK TO KARERI LAKE (3000M) - 3Kms/ 3Hrs

    > After a short ascent from the lake is a steep descent through the forest to Bagga.

    DAY 05: BAGGA – RAWA VILLAGE - BAHL VILLAGE (2130 MTS/6987 FT) 15 KM/6 HRS

    > The trial goes downhill through the forest. Rawa village is situated on the bank of a small river.

       Thereon, It is a steep ascent through the forest to Bahl Village.

    > Dinner and overnight stay in a village.

    Day 06: BAHL TO TRIUND (2870M) 12 KMS 4/5 HOURS WALK

    > Steep ascent through mixed forest of oak, of Dhauladhar on one side and Kangra valley on the other. 

       Rhododendron and cedar trees takes us to Triund, an alpine meadow situated on top of a ridge.

       From Triund we have close superb views of peaks

    > Night stay in tents.

    DAY 07: TRIUND –LAKA GOT (3200M) 6 KMS

    > After breakfast we start our ascent to Laka Got. It is an hour walk to

      Khabrotu from where we do a side acclimatization walk to KunalPathri, a small temple situated on     

      top of a ridge. Walk back to Khabrotu to continue or walk to Laka got. Our camping site at Laka got

      is situated at the snout of a small glacier which stays full of snow till   end of May.

    > Night stay in tents.

    DAY 08: LAKA GOT- LAHES CAVE-LAKA GOT

    > This day we walk on Laka glacier and go towards InderharaPass. 

      The more adventurous trekkers can try to attempt the pass which is really a difficult climb and needs     

      extra physical strength and stamina. Back to Laka got for overnight stay in the camp.

    > Night stay in tents.

    DAY 09: DAY CLIMB TO INDRAHAR PASS
