3 Days IAYP Award Program

Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights

Best Season: March-June Mid / Oct-Dec

This 3 days award program is good for both Bronze & Silver level. There are 3 levels of the Award – Bronze, Silver & Gold and the basic structure of the Award consists of 4 mandatory sections Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills and Physical Recreation. The Award therefore is challenging, and can be undertaken at your own pace. Participants can choose to undertake all three categories of the Award programme or enter directly at any of the three levels.

The IAYP/ DoFE AWARDS Award Programme was initiated in the UK in 1956 as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with an aim of motivating young people aged between 14 and 25 years.  The concept was to involve them in voluntary self-development activities like individual challenges, encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community.

THE CAMP & SET UP - Snow Monk Camp is situated at the top end of the Salli village on the road leading to Kareri village. The road will soon be connecting to Ghera and Naddi villages of Dharamshala in the near future. The view from the camp is panoramic. It offers sweeping view of the Khauli valley and the river with snow clad mountains to the north, spell binding sights of sunset towards the Khanol village to the west and spectacular sight of the huge reservoirs of Pong &Ranjit Sagar to the south.

SAFETY @Holiday Moods Adventures has established and maintains a system for managing safety on its tours which is based on detailed risk assessments and the operating procedures to minimize the likelihood and severity of the risks. This system is updated every trip by our trips leaders regularly. There is always a resident doctor on call with a standby vehicle for emergencies at each destination we go to. Normally, the access to nearby hospital is just 30 mins except while on treks and remote places. We also have specially assigned women trip leader too

Our programmes/ trips are designed specifically for groups, schools, colleges, youth groups, corporate offsites, organizations & families. All activity elements are tightly controlled. The activities included in the programmes are not advanced expeditions and they do not require participants to be trained in advance. These are simple activities which provide a great experience and basic training. All parts of the programme are closely supported and supervised.

A regular step we take to manage safety is to provide the trip leaders annual trainings camps so as to be updates with the new safety techniques. In addition all participants are briefed regularly to ensure that they play their part in protecting themselves and others. The trip leaders are provided training to ensure that they must follow the best practices, and observe key rules to keep safe and healthy.
